What's the Difference between La Belle and Amandine Ranunculus?
La Belle is a favorite of professional cut flower farmers for Ranunculus. Ranunculus do best in cooler spring. La Belle can bloom earlier than Amandine in Cooler Temperatures. Blooms are on long stems with large flowers. La Belle are more heat sensitive then Amandine. They will slow way down as soon as temperatures hit 80 degrees. Here at HHF( in zone 7) We primarily plant La Belle in the fall and protect with frost cloth. Our Spring planted La Belle we keep to cooler, shadier spots with morning sunshine. Planted side by side our LaBelle begins blooming 3 weeks earlier than Amandine or Romance. We find they are very prolific for a shorter time than other Ranunculus Varieties.
